Johnnye B Reynolds, 92, passed away in her sleep peacefully and was called home January 12, 2015. She was born in Poughkeepsie, AR to the late Artie and Lee Byrd.
 
She was valedictorian of her class and attended a year of business college. She is the middle of 6 children, Nettie B, Robert, Conley and Merilee. She is survived by the younger sister, Artie Lee Vaughn, CA.
 
She was a flight attendant, and worked her way up to supervisor of reservations and managed city reservations for American Airlines Ticket office In Indianapolis. She retired from the airlines in 1981 and opened JBR World Travel in Greencastle with her late husband , Oliver T Reynolds, husband of 63 years. “ I was always fascinated with accounts of people flying off to faraway places.” She was a member of Pilot’s club and service organization and was considered Pioneer in the airline industry. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and traveling the world. When asked about her life, she stated, “ I did three things right: going into travel business, marrying the right man and having a daughter.”
 
She is survived by daughter, Beth McCarthy, Carmel and grandchildren, Brian McCarthy, (Laura McCarthy), Indianapolis, and Meghan McCarthy, Chicago. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews
 
Arrangements are handled by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM on January 19, 2015 at the funeral home. A funeral service is immediately following the visitation.
 
Memorial contributions can be made in Johnnye’s name to Gleaners Food Bank.
